Wedding Word Search Generator: Free Printable Puzzle

Add your names and wedding words, choose a difficulty, and print a guest puzzle with a matching answer key.

Create your wedding word search

Easy: right and down. Standard: also diagonally down-right and down-left. Challenging: all eight directions, including backwards and upwards.

Use 2–24 unique words, with 3 letters up to your grid size. Spaces, hyphens and apostrophes are removed; other characters, including numbers and accented letters, are rejected. Blank lines are ignored. Titles can contain up to 80 characters.

Your title and words are processed in this browser, not sent to a puzzle service or saved by this tool. Copy your words elsewhere before leaving or reloading. No account, payment or AI is needed.

No current puzzle. Select Build word search. Changing the title, words, size or difficulty clears the previous result and disables printing.

Choose Letter or A4 portrait in your browser’s print dialog. Select a printer or Save as PDF, turn off headers and footers, and check the preview before printing. Keep the answer key separate from guest copies.

For the photos between games, VowSnaps lets guests share photos and videos through a QR code without a guest app or account. See how to collect wedding guest photos.

Wedding word ideas

Try LOVE, RINGS, VOWS, CAKE, DANCE, TOAST, BOUQUET and HONEYMOON. A phrase such as FIRST DANCE becomes FIRSTDANCE in the grid and word bank. Use at least two different words; short names under three letters will need a longer alternative.

Choose an easy or difficult puzzle

Easy hides words only left-to-right and top-to-bottom. Standard adds the two downward diagonal directions. Challenging uses all eight directions, so words can run backwards and upwards. A larger grid adds more letters to search; fewer short words and Easy mode make a gentler starting point.

Word limits and omitted entries

Enter one word per line, with 2–24 unique valid words. Each word must contain at least 3 letters after spaces, hyphens and apostrophes are removed, and no more letters than the selected grid size: 12, 16 or 20. Spaces, hyphens and apostrophes are removed; numbers, accented letters and other characters are not supported. Blank lines are ignored. Duplicate, invalid, over-limit and unplaced words are reported rather than silently included. Only placed words appear in the word bank; at least two must be placed before printing is enabled. If a word does not fit, try a larger grid, fewer words or another layout.

Word search or crossword?

A word search asks guests to find words already hidden in a letter grid. A crossword asks them to solve clues and write the answers.
