GuestCam vs Wedibox: the short answer

Choose GuestCam for consideration when individual videos exceed Wedibox's documented 3GB threshold, or when independently coded galleries and optional face search matter. Consider Wedibox All-In-One when you want RSVP and seating tools alongside the collection, with two years of storage on the currently advertised base plan. Neither is a universal winner.

Both collect wedding guest photos and videos through a QR code or link without guests installing an app or creating an account. GuestCam Standard and Wedibox Wedding each advertise US$49 one-time, but matching prices do not mean matching limits or extras. Start with your largest files, the dates you need and how many separate guest-facing galleries you want.

Disclosure: VowSnaps is a competing wedding photo-sharing service. This comparison is authored by its founder, Brandon King, using public vendor documentation checked October 24, 2026. We did not buy either plan or test uploads, speed, reliability or guest participation. Recommendations below interpret documented limits, not hands-on results or ratings.

GuestCam displays US$55 and US$110 crossed out beside its current US$49 and US$97 prices. Wedibox lists the base amounts shown here and also advertises conditional discount offers. This table does not apply coupon codes or assume promotions will continue. Confirm currency, taxes, extras and the final checkout total before paying.

Upload time is how long people can add files. Storage time is how long the hosted collection remains available under the plan. The two windows start together: six months of uploads plus one year of storage does not mean eighteen months of access.

Wedibox's current pricing cards and plan-comparison help specify two-year storage for the US$79 All-In-One base plan. Its timeline help also lists extended variants; their prices and current availability were not established here. Do not assign those longer windows to the base prices. Its Free documentation does not establish a guaranteed retention duration, so do not treat Free as paid storage without paying.

Video limits: would your actual file fit?

GuestCam's file-size guide allows up to 20MB per photo and 9.8GB per video. These are individual-file limits, not a total-gallery allowance. Wedibox's guest guide says up to 3GB each, while its host guide and troubleshooting use less-than-3GB wording. Keep Wedibox files below 3GB rather than assuming a file exactly on the boundary will work.

A hypothetical 2GB video falls below both documented video thresholds. A 5GB video exceeds Wedibox's threshold but falls below GuestCam's. That makes GuestCam worth considering for that file, not a guarantee the upload succeeds: format, connection and the actual service behavior still matter. We did not perform either upload.

File size is not video duration. A short high-resolution recording can be larger than a longer compressed clip. Check the actual file's size rather than asking only whether a ten-minute speech fits. Neither provider's reviewed documentation established a numeric batch cap; unlimited total uploads does not prove unlimited batch size. Ask the vendor about unusually large collections before relying on them.

Buying early does not have to start the clock

GuestCam says both windows begin on the event start date you set, not the purchase date. Wedibox's detailed help says both begin on the selected activation date. Its displayed wedding date is a separate field: changing that date does not change activation. Both allow advance purchase, but you must check the actual date controlling access.

For a hypothetical September 18, 2027 wedding with a September 17 rehearsal, a couple wanting rehearsal uploads should plan the relevant start or activation for September 17, not assume the wedding-date label covers it. Starting both clocks on September 17 means the six-month upload window is measured from that date, and the twelve-month storage window is also measured from that date. It does not start when uploads close. Confirm the precise expiry dates displayed in your account.

Wedibox's short pricing wording refers to the event day, while its dedicated activation and timeline guides give the more precise rules above. Use those detailed rules and confirm the dates before distributing the QR code. Set separate reminders for the last upload date and the download deadline; buying early and activating early are different decisions.

Albums are not the same as separately coded galleries

GuestCam Standard includes one Main Gallery; Premium includes six, each with its own QR code, link and guest settings. Both allow unlimited sub-galleries inside a Main Gallery. Folders for ceremony, reception and dancing are not the same thing as three independently coded Main Galleries.

Wedibox's paid plans offer unlimited albums inside an event. Guests choose an album when uploading, and hosts can hide albums or move files. The documentation reviewed does not establish a separate QR code and independent event controls for every album.

For a rehearsal, wedding and later celebration, first decide whether you need one shared collection with folders or separate links and permissions. GuestCam Premium's six Main Galleries sit within one event package, each with its own QR code, link and guest settings. GuestCam documents using these as mini-events for bridal showers, rehearsal dinners and wedding celebrations. That does not mean six separately purchased event packages.

Audio, face search and planning extras

GuestCam's two paid plans include browser-recorded audio and PhoneBooth software for your own tablet. Premium adds a shared dial-in number with an event code. A dedicated audio number is a separate US$30-per-event add-on for US or Canadian numbers; do not confuse it with the included shared number. MagicFind face search costs an additional US$45 per event on either plan.

Wedibox Wedding and All-In-One include browser-recorded voice messages. All-In-One adds RSVP collection, meal and plus-one details, seating, a shared playlist and registry links. Those planning features are not an entitlement of Wedding merely because both plans collect photos. A software audio feature is not supplied telephone hardware, and browser recording is not the same as calling a phone number.

If those extras decide the purchase, check the relevant plan and add-on together. Otherwise, compare the photo collection you actually need rather than paying for a longer feature list.

Original-quality claims and your backup plan

GuestCam says it stores and returns original files without compression or resizing. Wedibox advertises original-quality ZIP downloads, but its upload troubleshooting also says HEIC files are converted and photos over 4MB are compressed before upload. Its download guide promises files at the size uploaded. These are vendor specifications, not a side-by-side image-quality test; a ZIP download does not prove the camera file was unchanged before upload.

Wedibox's full-event ZIP is available on Wedding and above once the event is activated, while storage remains active. The ZIP reflects files present when requested; request another after late uploads, and check every part if a large collection is split. Its expiry guide describes paused browsing and archival with a paid extension option, not a quantified promise of indefinite preservation. GuestCam's post-storage recovery period was not established in the sources reviewed.

For either service, download before the access deadline, open a sample of the saved files and keep a separate backup. Keep your original camera files if quality matters. A hosted event album should not be the only copy.

Which fits your wedding plans?

For larger individual videos or several independently coded galleries within one event, compare GuestCam's file allowance and Premium gallery structure. For RSVP and seating alongside the photo collection, compare Wedibox All-In-One. For a basic photo-and-video collection, the two US$49 plans deserve a closer look at timing, file handling and extras rather than a price-only verdict.

Before paying, write down your largest photo and video sizes, collection start date, final upload date, backup deadline and any separate-gallery requirement. Before printing, scan the finished QR sign and confirm it opens the correct event. Neither a specification table nor this comparison establishes which service will get more guests to participate.

If another provider remains on your shortlist, read GuestCam vs Kululu or GuestPix vs GuestCam for those specific decisions. Keep each comparison tied to the pair you are actually considering.

VowSnaps is our own alternative for collecting wedding guest photos and videos through a QR code in a private gallery, without guests installing an app or creating an account. If that is the job you need, see how to collect wedding guest photos. This is a disclosed commercial next step, not evidence that VowSnaps is better than either service.
