GuestCam vs Kululu: the short answer

GuestCam and Kululu both collect guest photos and videos through a browser and offer a live slideshow. Kululu has a free plan for a small collection; GuestCam's paid plans offer longer upload windows than the Kululu plans compared here. If you are still choosing a collection method, start with how to collect wedding guest photos.

The practical decision is how many files you expect, how long guests need to upload, whether you need approval before uploads appear, and when you will back everything up. A plan that fits a short trial may not fit a wedding weekend or months of follow-up.

Disclosure: VowSnaps is a competing wedding photo-sharing service. This article is authored by its founder, Brandon King, and is based on public vendor documentation checked October 12, 2026—not independent hands-on testing. We did not buy plans, upload guest photos or test speed, reliability, moderation accuracy or participation. This is a comparison of the two named services, not a scored ranking.

The table covers plans for a single event, not Kululu's professional subscriptions. GuestCam specifies US dollars in its terms. Kululu's public pricing cards show a dollar sign without naming the currency; we preserve that display rather than assume or convert it. Kululu's paid prices exclude taxes. GuestCam says applicable sales tax may be added. Confirm currency and the final checkout total before paying.

GuestCam displayed US$55 and US$110 crossed out beside Standard's US$49 and Premium's US$97. Those are the current advertised prices, not a guarantee that a reduction will continue. Kululu's Plus and Pro cards showed one-time fees of $39 and $99 respectively; Free showed $0 and no credit card required.

Upload window means the period for adding files. Storage or access window means how long the collection remains available. Do not add those periods together. Kululu's Plus card says one month of uploads and three months of storage; its help pages specify 30 and 90 days respectively. Check the actual dates shown for your event.

When does the clock start—and what happens at the end?

GuestCam explicitly starts both upload and storage windows on the event start date you set, not the purchase date. Standard therefore does not provide six months of uploads followed by another 12 months of storage; both clocks start together.

Kululu says event activation depends on the event date and guest activity, not when you create or upgrade the event. Its upload help page says active time starts when the event is marked as started and guests begin uploading; test uploads from the owner or one or two guests do not count as the real start. For a rehearsal, wedding and next-day gathering, confirm the start date and whether they belong in one event before sharing the link widely.

Kululu's access help page says files become inaccessible when the availability period ends. It does not clearly specify the storage clock's start point on that page. Confirm the exact access deadline in your account or with support rather than assuming storage starts after uploads close. Neither the access periods nor this comparison establish a guaranteed deletion date, grace period or recovery service. Download and back up before access expires.

Upload counts, guest limits and file sizes

Kululu's cards advertise unlimited guests on all three plans, but Free and Plus cap the combined photo-and-video count at 100 and 500. Its help page says each photo or video counts as one upload. Once the limit is reached, new uploads stop until you delete files or upgrade. Guest count alone is not a reliable way to choose a plan: a smaller group can still exceed the file allowance.

Kululu's Fair Usage Policy puts numbers behind its unlimited plans: up to 10,000 media uploads and 5,000 participants per event, with instructions to contact Kululu for more. It also says the service is for event media, not an all-purpose cloud drive. Those conditions matter even though the Pro card says unlimited.

GuestCam advertises unlimited guests, photos and videos on both paid plans. Its help page specifies a maximum of 20MB per photo and 9.8GB per video, not a total-gallery cap. We did not find a numeric total-storage allowance in the pricing, file-limit page or terms reviewed. That is not a promise of unrestricted use; its service terms still apply.

We did not verify a per-file size cap for Kululu in the pricing and help pages reviewed. Ask about unusually large photos or long videos before relying on them. Estimate your wedding photo storage needs separately: a file-count allowance, a file-size limit and a hosting deadline answer different questions.

Photo walls and approval before display

A live display is not exclusive to either service. GuestCam lists a live slideshow on both paid plans. Kululu lists a real-time slideshow, called its Photo Wall, on Free, Plus and Pro. Kululu describes opening its wall link on an internet-connected device and connecting it to a TV or projector. A software plan is not a screen or venue internet connection; arrange those separately.

Treat moderation as a separate requirement from having a slideshow. Kululu's manual approval feature is Pro-only according to its help page. Its Pro card also lists an automatic content filter; that listing is not evidence that every unsuitable image will be caught. Do not assume Plus includes approval merely because it includes the Photo Wall.

GuestCam documents host approval of guest uploads through gallery permissions. Its moderation guide says enabling moderation affects new uploads only, and turning it off does not automatically approve pending uploads. We did not test either service's display or moderation behavior. Before an event, check the chosen gallery's permissions and use non-sensitive sample files to confirm what guests and the screen can actually see.

Original files and downloading the collection

GuestCam says both paid plans store the original uploaded files without compression or resizing and include a one-click original-quality ZIP download. Kululu's paid Plus and Pro plans also document original-quality downloads. Its Free card instead says standard quality, and its help page says photos on Free are slightly compressed.

Kululu's Download All ZIP feature is limited to Plus and Pro. Its help page separately describes individual downloads; do not mistake a free individual download for the paid bulk-export feature. These are vendor specifications, not our own image-quality or export tests.

Make a backup plan before choosing a service. Name the person who will download the collection, set a reminder before the access deadline, and check the saved files open. Keep a separate backup rather than treating an event gallery as permanent storage. A download option also does not grant permission to republish a photographer's work or another guest's image.

Which plan fits your wedding?

For a small trial or short gathering, Kululu Free lets you try the album and Photo Wall without a credit card, within 100 uploads, a 24-hour upload window and seven days of access. Accept its quality and bulk-download limitations rather than treating it as the paid product for free.

For a collection that will stay within 500 files and finish within 30 days, Kululu Plus is a plan to consider. If you expect more files, need longer uploads or want an audio guestbook, compare GuestCam Standard's documented allowances instead. Confirm currency and taxes before deciding on price alone.

For a moderated Kululu wedding collection, Pro is the documented tier for manual approval. For six or twelve months of uploads, GuestCam Standard or Premium respectively meets that timing requirement on paper. For several gallery links inside one event, check Premium's main-gallery structure. None of those differences establishes better reliability or a universal winner.

Before paying, confirm the event dates, expected file count, largest file sizes, approval workflow, optional extras and final download deadline. Before printing, use wedding QR sign wording that explains the upload, then scan the finished code to check it opens the intended event. If GuestPix is also on your shortlist, our separate GuestPix vs GuestCam comparison covers that pair rather than folding a third service into this decision.
